Day 1: Cape Town - the city for you!

We discover it on foot as well as by comfortable car. Castle of Good Hope, Long Street, Greenmarket Square and Bo-Kaap district. A moving visit to the District Six Museum gives us deep insights into the effects of apartheid and the history of the former district. Of course we also want to visit Table Mountain, the city’s landmark – let’s see what the weather says! This gondola ride is not included in the price, we decide only on the spot. Maybe a relaxed sundowner at Lions Head after all? And now you want to end the evening with fine cuisine in a great atmosphere? I have the best tips for the restaurants in the City Bowl!

Day 2: A free day in the Mother City for you!

We gladly suggest some possibilities as…

  • Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden – acclaimed as one fo the great botanic gardens of the world
  • Babylonstoren – one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms
  • Special shopping tours – main focus on food markets
  • Cooking tour
  • Township tour

Feel, touch, explore and enjoy – this day is your day!

Day 3: Cape Town - Cape of Good Hope - wine tasting

After breakfast we start towards Cape Point! Along the breathtaking coastal road we drive into the impressive National Park of the Cape of Good Hope. At Cape Point with its lighthouse we enjoy the magnificent landscape, the rugged cliffs, the beach passages and the rough waves during a walk. The main attraction of Simon’s Town is the protected colony of Jackass Penguins – these adorable animals can be observed at close range. Here you can also visit a seafood restaurant or save your appetite for our next stop, as the Winelands around Cape Town also offer excellent restaurants.  The crowning finale of the day will be a wine tasting in one of the renowned wineries!

Day 4: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn - Ostrich Farm

Today we say goodbye to Cape Town, because we are going to the Little Karoo, a very dry but very attractive region due to the coastal mountains of the Outeniqua Mountains. We stop in one of the pretty little towns we pass and enjoy the area and its cuisine. The destination of the day is Oudtshoorn, the centre of ostrich breeding. During your guided tour of an ostrich farm we will learn a lot about the way of life of these large birds. How about an ostrich steak in the evening?

Day 5: Oudtshoorn - Cango Caves - Mossel Bay

After breakfast we visit one of the largest and most beautiful stalactite caves in the world and take a guided tour of about 1 hour. Afterwards we drive to Mossel Bay, where the Bartolomeu Dias Museum is waiting for us. Here you can admire among other things the caravel built in original size by the famous Portuguese navigator.

Day 6: Mossel Bay - George - Wilderness - Knysna

Via George, where the starting point for the nature reserve is located, we head towards Wilderness. This is exactly what the name stands for: two large national parks are lined up here one after the other and an approx. 30 km long stretch of coast leaves nothing to be desired. Hiking, walking, water sports, horse riding, bird watching, … there is something for everyone. Finally, the tour continues to Knysna – the beautiful lagoon of the Garden Route.

Day 7: Knysna - Tsitsikamma NP - Port Elizabeth

Today we travel to the Tsitsikamma area. In the San language this means “place of water abundance”. It is a part of the Garden Route National Park and two of the most famous hiking trails in South Africa run through here. Jungle, rugged mountains and rivers make them so popular. A stop is of course planned at the famous Bloukrans Bridge – does anyone want to bungee jump? In the evening we arrive in Port Elizabeth and nothing stands in the way of a cosy dinner.

Day 8: Port Elizabeth - Addo National Park

A full day trip is planned today to the famous Addo Elephant National Park. Beside the different animals, which are to be discovered here, the fightless dung beetle, which is under special protection, should be mentioned. Always a special experience!

Day 9: Port Elizabeth

The last day belongs to Port Elizabeth, the fifth largest city in the country. Many attractions of the city can be found at Humewood Beach. Proud of its history, historic buildings and many museums along the promenade. Port Elizabeth is also known as “The Friendly City” – what a great way to end a trip!
